propellor shafts

At nationals last year, they lent propellor shafts that had threaded hex nuts on the side to teams whose props kept falling off. Where can we get these? Can we make them oursleves? Is this allowed? Thanks.

Of course these modifications are allowed.
I modify these myself. You can make them yourself if you have the right tools (0.086" [#50] drill bit and 2-56 tap). Because the drill bit is so small I use a special drill chuck in my drill press. It is a 2-56 set screw in the side.
Unfortunately very few teams that "borrowed" them gave them back. I'll only have them this year if I get time to make them.
