Task 1: Mapping the Seafloor

Hello,
We are preparing our students to plan for their ROV modifications to complete Task 1. As coaches we are confused about this line in the overview, "The tether cable may not be used to
push or pull the grid line indicators." We are wondering if the ROV is only able to move the pool noodles, or more importantly how will they potentially move the grid line indicators if they cannot use the tether cables? Thanks for any insight to how this will be scored.

I think they mean the tether cable to the robot

I am sorry this is not clear. The tether cable being referred to is the ROV's tether cable.

From page 1 of the Overview Rules, "For this task, the ROV will navigate a course by moving grid line indicators (floats attached with ropes) along grid lines (pipes) in a pattern to mimic mapping the seafloor. The floating lines provide a visual indication of keeping on track."
