  • How to install/control non-stock motors

I am brand new to SeaPerch. We've built from the kit and can control the 3 thrusters. But how would I go about wiring and controlling additional non-stock motors as actuators?

cthompson@sbrsd.org If you left the brown wire pair in the tether intact (you did not cut it) then you can use the wires at the ROV and pick up the connection in the controller on pins 7 & 8 of the RJ-45 jack. I have seen designs where students added another switch to the controller and had a simple on-off control. It is also possible to break out of the controller box and add an Arduino or other microcontroller for advanced motor control. I have attached the controller schematic. Please let me know if this answers your question.
