    Dorm Housing FAQ:

    Q: Who can stay in the dorms?
    A: Dorm housing is only available for registered team members and chaperones.

    Q: What dorm packages are available?
    A: Dorm housing and meals for registered teams are $80 per person per night. Only registered students and cleared, registered chaperones (max. of 4 chaperones per team) may stay in the dorms.

    • Check- in: Friday, 5/31/19 - Check-out: Sunday, 6/2/19
    • Breakfast - Saturday and Sunday
    • Lunch -Friday (Saturday and Sunday already included in team registration fee)

    PACKAGE B - 3 NIGHTS - $240.00 per person
    • Check-in: Friday, 5/31/19 - Check-out: Monday, 6/3/19
    • Breakfast - Saturday, Sunday and Monday

    Q: Is there an option to check-in prior to Friday or stay longer than Sunday?
    A: Unfortunately, the University of Maryland dorms are only available in the packages outlined above. Teams wishing to fly in early or stay longer will need to make arrangements at local hotels for the extra days.

    Q: How many students are allowed in each room?
    A: There are only two students allowed in each room.

    Q: How will student room assignments be made?
    A: Students will be grouped two to a room by gender and age. Roommate requests will be accommodated as much as possible but are not guaranteed.

    Q: How can I make a roommate request?
    A: Roommate requests can be made when registering for housing.

    Q: How many chaperones are allowed to stay in the dorms?
    A: Four registered chaperones are allowed per team and they may stay in the dorms. All chaperones must be background checked before being approved.

    Q: How will Chaperone room assignments be made?
    A: Chaperones will be assigned one adult to a room but will share a bathroom with other adults of the same gender. Chaperones who have a child attending will be allowed to stay in a room with their child only. A request to stay in the same room as your child will need to be made during the registration process under Special Requests.

    Q: Can family members stay in the dorm?
    A: Only registered students and cleared, registered chaperones (max. of 4 chaperones per team) may stay in the dorms. Additional adults should register as Spectators and will need to make reservations for accommodations at nearby hotels. Siblings may be allowed to stay with a registered chaperone parent in the dorm, if pre-approved by RoboNation. Send requests to spsupport@robonation.org. Click Here for local hotel information.

    Q: Can a husband and wife who are registered chaperones stay together in one dorm room?
    A: Chaperones who are married can request to stay in the same dorm room together. These requests will be honored as much as possible. Please remember that the dorms are traditional dorms and, therefore, most floors will be single gender floors and all beds are extra-long twins.

    Q: Can any adult stay in the dorm?
    A: Any adult staying in the dorms with the students must first be registered as a Team Chaperone on the Team Registration website before registering to stay in the dorms. Teams are allowed a maximum of 4 registered chaperones and all chaperones must complete a background check before being approved. Additional adults should register as Spectators and will need to make reservations for accommodations at nearby hotels. Click Here for local hotel information.

    Q: Do team sponsors stay in the dorms with the teams?
    A: Any adult staying in the dorms with the students must first be registered as a Team Chaperone on the Team Registration website before registering to stay in the dorms. Teams are allowed a maximum of 4 chaperones and all chaperones must complete a background check before being approved.     Q: How much does the housing and meal package cost per person?

    Q: What style dorms are available?
    A: Traditional style dorms with communal bathrooms on each floor. The communal bathrooms contain private showers, toilet stalls and multiple sinks.

    Q: Are Linens included with housing?
    A: Yes. Linens included in each package are: 2 sheets, 1 blanket, 1 pillow, 1 pillowcase and 2 towels. Please follow the link for more details: Click Here

    Q: Are maid service and linen changes available in dorm housing?
    A: No maid service or daily bed linen changes are provided. Towels only may be exchanged daily at the Hospitality Desk.

    Q: Is linen exchange available?
    A: Towels only may be exchanged daily at the 24-hour Dorm Hospitality Desk.

    Q: Why do I need to setup an account on RegFox?
    A: Making an account on RegFox allows the team point of contact to edit their housing registration until end of day on May 4, 2019.

    Q: How do I make changes to housing registration?
    A: You can make changes to your Dorm Housing Registration after setting up an account. Set up an account by clicking the “Claim Your Account” button at the end of the dorm registration process. Once you have set up a team account with a password, you can go back into your team registration to edit the registration. You can add/remove students or chaperones until end of day on May 4, 2019. The system will automatically debit or refund your credit card as needed.

    Q: How do I make changes to housing registration if I did not setup a Regfox account when I registered for dorm housing?
    A: You can “Claim Your Account” from the registration confirmation email. At the bottom of the confirmation email, there is a blue link that says “Set Up Account Now”. Click on this link and follow the prompts to set up your account. Once you have set up a team account with a password, you can go back in and edit your registration. You can add/remove students or chaperones until end of day on May 4, 2019. The system will automatically debit or refund your credit card as needed.

    Q: When is the last day that I can receive a housing refund?
    A: The last day to receive a housing refund is May 4, 2019

    Q: Are there any other options for making payments?
    A: The only payment options available are by credit card. General Registration & Payment Link

    Q: Where is the housing link?
    A: Following submission of your team registration on Submittable, you will receive a confirmation email with a link to reserve dorm housing. If you have not yet received your housing link within a week, please email spsupport@robonation.org.

    Q: Are the dorms air conditioned?
    A: Yes, all dorms are air conditioned. Bringing an additional blanket is recommended as the dorms may be chilly.
