RoboNation Coronavirus (COVID-19) Update
The health and safety of the RoboNation community is the highest priority for our team. As COVID-19 continues to spread around the world, we know that many regions are facing school closures, travel restrictions, and other challenges that affect each of our daily lives. As a result, we have made the very difficult decision to cancel the 2020 International SeaPerch Challenge scheduled for May 30-31, 2020 at the University of Maryland in College Park, Maryland.

We know that teams, mentors, coordinators, and regional advocates have worked incredibly hard this season designing and building SeaPerches and planning events in your region. We have also been hard at work planning for this year’s event and were looking forward to welcoming you to the International Challenge and seeing your hard work in action. Although we won’t be convening as a community as we typically do at the end of our SeaPerch season, we are actively exploring virtual options to promote the kinds of connections that we see every year at the SeaPerch Challenge. We will send an update in the near future regarding what these virtual components will entail.

Please note that regional events are hosted by dedicated volunteers in each of your communities and may still be operating as planned. For more information on your regional competition, please contact your regional competition coordinator. We also encourage you to stay up to date on recommendations from the CDC by visiting their website HERE.

Thank you for being a part of our community and for your continued engagement with the program. Please know that this decision was not made lightly and that our team, like many of you, is heartbroken over this cancellation. We wish you all good health in the coming months and hope to “see” you all in the coming virtual engagement opportunities.
