    Dorm Housing Questions:

    Q: How many students are allowed in each room?
    A: There are only two students allowed in each room.

    Q: How will student room assignments be made?
    A: Students will be grouped two to a room by gender and age. Roommate requests will be accommodated as much as possible but are not guaranteed.

    Q: How can I make a roommate request?
    A: Roommate requests can be made when registering for housing.

    Q: How many chaperones are allowed to stay in the dorms?
    A: Four registered chaperones are allowed per team and they may stay in the dorms. All chaperones must be background checked before being approved.

    Q: How will Chaperone room assignments be made?
    A: Chaperones will be assigned based on their selected housing package and roommate requests. Single occupancy rooms will have one adult in a room, but adults will share a bathroom with other adults of the same gender. Married chaperones will be accommodated as much as possible, but the dorms are traditional style dorms so mixed gender pods are limited. Chaperones who have a child attending will be allowed to stay in a room with their child only. A request to stay in the same room as your child will need to be made during the registration process under Special Requests.

    Q: Can family members stay in the dorm?
    A: Only registered students and cleared, registered chaperones (max. of 4 chaperones per team) may stay in the dorms.     Q: Can any adult stay in the dorm?
    A: Any adult staying in the dorms with the students must first be registered as a Team Chaperone on the Team Registration website before registering to stay in the dorms. Teams are allowed a maximum of 4 registered chaperones and all chaperones must complete a background check before being approved.     Q: Do team sponsors stay in the dorms with the teams?
    A: Any adult staying in the dorms with the students must first be registered as a Team Chaperone on the Team Registration website before registering to stay in the dorms.     Q: How much does the UMD Dorm housing and meal package cost per person?

    Q: What are the package options for Dorm Housing?
    A: We have 3 package options. Click Herefor UMD Dorm Housing Packages and pricing information.

    Q: What style dorms are available?
    A: Traditional style dorms with communal bathrooms on each floor. The communal bathrooms contain private showers, toilet stalls and multiple sinks.

    Q: Are Linens included with housing?
    A: Yes.Linens included in each package are: 2 sheets, 1 blanket, 1 pillow, 1 pillowcase and 2 towels.

    Q: Are maid service and linen changes available in dorm housing?
    A: No maid service or daily bed linen changes are provided. Towels only may be exchanged daily at the Hospitality Desk.

    Q: Is linen exchange available?
    A: Towels only may be exchanged daily at the 24-hour Dorm Hospitality Desk.

    Q: Why do I need to setup an account on RegFox?
    A: Making an account on RegFox allows the team point of contact to edit their housing registration until end of day on April 30, 2020.

    Q: How do I make changes to housing registration?
    A: You can make changes to your Dorm Housing Registration after setting up an account. Set up an account by clicking the “Claim Your Account” button at the end of the team registration process. Once you have set up a team account with a password, you can go back into your team registration to make edits. You can add/remove students or chaperones and change housing packages until end of day on April 30, 2020. The system will automatically debit or refund your credit card as needed.

    Q: How do I make changes to housing registration if I did not setup a Regfox account when I registered for dorm housing?
    A: You can “Claim Your Account” from the registration confirmation email. At the bottom of the confirmation email, there is a blue link that says “Set Up Account Now”. Click on this link and follow the prompts to set up your account. Once you have set up a team account with a password, you can go back in and edit your registration. You can add/remove students or chaperones and change housing packages until end of day on April 30, 2020. The system will automatically debit or refund your credit card as needed.

    Q: When is the last day that I can receive a housing refund?
    A: The last day to receive a housing refund is April 30, 2020.

    Q: Are there any other options for making payments besides a credit card?
    A: If a team is prohibited from making a payment by credit card by their organization, a request to pay by check must be made in writing to Karen Osborn at [email protected]. Requests will be approved on a case by case basis.

    Q: Are the dorms air conditioned?
    A: Yes, all dorms are air conditioned. Bringing an additional blanket is recommended as the dorms may be chilly.
