  • Scoring the Sunken Trash

Do teams that have their Mission course anchored to the bottom of the pool have to carry sunken trash to the disposal platform or can they push it along the bottom of the pool to the platform?

ron.schaffner That's really up to the local competition director. All objects are light enough to lift and carry with the stock SeaPerch ROV so I really do not see a reason to push or drag objects.

At nationals aren't the platforms elevated thus if they push the objects, they will fall off and down and be unretrievable?

[email protected] Yes, as the rules state, "Suspended Course: The course for the International SeaPerch Challenge will be suspended from the pool’s lane dividers at a depth between 5 and 6 feet. Any object that falls to the pool floor is out-of-play. ROVs are not permitted to descend below the course platform to retrieve out-of-play objects."

Will the sunken bottles have the lids on?

[email protected] The sunken bottles will not have lids so they will flood.
