I'm using 1/2" PVC (it looks like yours is bigger), and I didn't put in the cross piece under the bin (as you did). I should have included a picture of just the frame.
4 tee connectors on the "feet"?

What's causing the Nitro balls to fall out? Are they lighter (as well as larger diameter)?

I guess I should have said _some_ VideoRay thrusters. I'm not sure they all have a 40kHz control loop. I'm not sure what I can do, so I was going to leave the frequency separation as is (25, 30, 35, and 40).

When I get home today, I'll measure and weigh the golf balls I have.

Yeah. We built ours out of 1" PVC (as we standardize to 1" for ease of materials). Can you include the cross piece? And yep, just 4 tee connectors on the feet.

We weighed the balls and it seems like the Nitro balls are lighter than the Wilson ones (the Wilson ones go right up to the max golf ball weight limit) and they seem to be slightly larger. Really frustrating that such a small inconsistency makes such a difference. Tonight we will play with increasing the diameter of the holes slightly and report back on if that helps the Nitro balls?

        Golf ball measurements:

I choose 12 random Green, Red and Yellow balls, and attached is what I measured.

I probably won't have the cross piece. I've cut and glued a lot of the pieces together all ready, and I still have a few things to finish up before I have to ship everything on Sunday 7/22.

It's too late to make any dimensional changes (hole diameter or otherwise).

            Hi Dave
If robot grasp the ball first , just surface with the object directly and not to spend time to surface within the area without grasp anything.
It can also get the "surface within area " scores ?It's significant to save this time. Daveman

            Thank you

Quick questions regarding random pinger points and two vehicles:
While one vehicle is completing random pinger at Roulette/Cash In, are we allowed to switch the pinger so the other vehicle can go to the other task in the meantime? After the initial tracking to random pinger, are we allowed to switch the pinger as much as we want? How would the logistics work for both vehicles wanting to do random pinger? Would they be expected to do it at the same time or different times?

Let me see if I understand your question. If you grasp the ball and you surface with the ball (inside the square area on the surface) you will get points for "surfacing with object" and "surfacing within the area". You do not have to surface twice to get each of the points.

                Does that answer your question?

                See section 10

If the vehicle obtains any points from the first task(s), associated with the random pinger, bonus
points are awarded. At any point after the vehicle has obtained points from the task(s)
associated with the random pinger, the captain may request to switch the pinger. If the
vehicle obtains any points from the second task(s), associated with the random pinger,
bonus points are awarded. If the team captain requests to switch the pinger before the
vehicle has acquired any points, the run reverts back to a specific pinger request run, and
no random pinger points will be awarded.
This is how you can work it:
                • Before the start of your run, a random pinger is selected
                • At some point your "first" vehicle heads toward the currently active pinger
                  • Your second vehicle is staged somewhere on the course
                • After your first vehicle obtains any points at the active pinger, the captain may switch the pinger
                  • At this point you can switch back and forth as many time as you like without loosing "random pinger" points

                Does that make sense?

How long is the delay from the remote switching pingers to when the pinger switches?

The "new" pinger will ping during the next cycle for the section. (If that's what you are asking).

for the dices, can we confirm if the number 6 and 2 deliberately has their faces alternate 90 degrees (as shown in the rules) or are all their faces are supposed to be in the same orientation?

The intention of the picture is to let you know that the faces may all be in the same orientation, or they may be in different orientations. There is no guarantee, or preferred orientation.

We just noticed that there are no points for dropping blue chips in the green section of Roulette. According to the rules right now, dropping the blue balls into green would count as any, but because it's harder to drop into green, should they not count for at least the same as putting them in the called color?

Also, do we call the color ourselves?

True, a blue ball into the green area only counts as any. Since you should only be dropping your blue ball into the red or black area, I wanted to eliminate a part of luck if it happened to fall into the green area.

You call your color when you pass through the gate, and it's carried over to Roulette
