  • Invitation to Join RoboNation Data Sharing Committee

    Hello, RoboSub Community!

We are pleased to extend an invitation to you to join the Data Sharing Committee as a Data Moderator. The standard moderator position is a one-year commitment. The RoboNation Data Sharing calendar runs from September to August of the following year. Data Moderators meet monthly to discuss the design and structure of data files, standardization of test data, and outreach.

If you’re interested in joining us, please take about 10-15 minutes to complete the Data Moderator Application form by September 25. Click on this link to the form.

    About Data Sharing at RoboNation
Data Sharing is a RoboNation community-driven initiative. It was ideated at RoboSub 2019 with founding members: Parth Parekh (The Ohio State University), Camille Sauvain (École de Technologie Supérieure), Ben Manley (University of Michigan), and RoboNation’sformer Autonomous Program Director, Hitesh Patel.

This community-driven effort is designed for students, by students to increase collaboration between teams and address the never-ending quest for test data. It was the hope of the founders that all teams have access to shared resources, thereby empowering them to push the technology envelope into uncharted waters.

During vehicle development, teams need test data to validate and debug the reliability and robustness of their machine vision algorithms. Teams are willing to share data with other teams but a lack of data standardization can often render one team’s data useless to another team, not to mention the absence of an appropriate platform to transfer and access this data at will.

Keeping this in mind, the RoboNation Autonomous Communities (RoboBoat, RoboSub and RobotX) joined forces to initiate the Data Sharing project. For more information go to
