Hi all,

If you're new to the RobotX competition, it would be prudent to consult with teams with previous experience before you acquire propulsion equipment for your WAM-V. It has been the experience of previous teams that some hardware is more durable and tolerant of abrupt control input than others.

In 2018, my team used a pair of Torqueedo units for our propulsion, and they proved effective during testing but experienced a failure during the competition. We believe that these issues were induced by our software and could have been prevented with more careful control system design.

With this in mind, I would recommend that any new teams get in contact with more experienced groups to gain the benefit of their experience with acquiring and managing their propulsion hardware.
